Caregiving for Persons with Special Needs

Caregiving for Persons with Special Needs is a specialized Level 3 training program designed to prepare learners for a rewarding career in supporting individuals with physical, intellectual, developmental, and emotional disabilities. This 3-month (300-hour) course combines comprehensive theoretical knowledge with practical, hands-on training to develop professional caregiving skills for diverse healthcare and community settings.

The program covers disability awareness, effective communication, personal care, mobility assistance, daily living support, infection prevention, patient safety, behavior management, and inclusive caregiving practices. Participants will gain practical knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, sensory processing disorders, and the use of assistive technologies, mobility aids, and adaptive equipment to promote independence, dignity, and an improved quality of life.

Upon successful completion, graduates will be equipped to provide safe, compassionate, and person-centered care in hospitals, rehabilitation centers, special education institutions, residential care facilities, home care services, NGOs, and international healthcare environments.
