Caregiving for Elderly Persons

Caregiving for Elderly Persons is a specialized Level 3 training program designed to prepare learners for a rewarding career in professional elderly and geriatric care. This 3-month (300-hour) course combines comprehensive classroom instruction with practical, hands-on training, enabling participants to provide safe, compassionate, and person-centered care for older adults in homes, hospitals, nursing homes, rehabilitation centers, assisted living facilities, and long-term care settings.

The curriculum covers geriatric health, personal hygiene, nutrition, mobility and transfer techniques, medication assistance, infection prevention and control, fall prevention, emergency response, patient safety, and effective communication with elderly individuals. Learners will also gain practical knowledge of age-related conditions, including dementia, Parkinson's disease, arthritis, diabetes, hypertension, stroke, and cardiovascular disorders, while promoting dignity, independence, and a better quality of life.

With an industry-focused curriculum and supervised practical training, participants develop professional caregiving skills, ethical values, problem-solving abilities, and confidence to deliver high-quality elderly care. Upon successful completion, graduates will be well prepared for employment in hospitals, nursing homes, rehabilitation centers, home healthcare services, and international caregiving and healthcare organizations.
